Earlier I was at the bookstore on campus, and since I'd been drinking coffee I had to use the restroom. So I go to the hallway and pass the women's room, which has a sign on the door. It said something along the lines of "Please no merchandise beyond this point!" etc. etc.
Then I get to the men's room, which did not have any sign about merchandise or anything.
What does this mean? It shows that women are more likely to steal, and as such are not trusted to bring merchandise into a private area.
Don't try to argue this. It's scientific fact.

I think I may have just hit a new low point in my life, but only people who are familiar with the area around UCF will understand.
Tonight I went through a Taco Bell drive-thru and placed a standard order. I got home, and saw that they messed up my order pretty bad, so I'm still hungry. I went to the Taco Bell website to look for a complaint form (they give you free stuff), and began filling it out, and of course they ask which store I went to.
So I enter the store number or whatever, the town, state, then either the zipcode or landmark. What, am I visiting a Taco Bell by the Grand Canyon or something? So weird.
But the real sad part is that it was the Taco Bell at the intersection of Alafaya and 50, and you know what the landmark for that shopping plaza is? The Taco Bell. That's "The Taco Bell Plaza." I would've put that, but I didn't want to inflate their egos too much before I tore them back down with my eloquent complaining.
In other news, why is it so much more fun to watch a movie on TV, even when I have it on DVD right next to me. I mean, there's censoring and commercials on TV, yet I let Jerry Maguire keep playing on TBS, with these terrible mom-and-pop commercials. Who knows...

Something about the old man cleaning the Library bathrooms and coughing furiously all over the place doesn't seem very sanitary to me.

Earlier tonight I went to the coffee shop in the library. The "fresh" sign had only the magnet up for the Irish Cream. Normally I just get house blend, but I was feeling adventurous, so I decided to go all out and try something new.
So I went up to the counter and ordered a large coffee. I pay, and normally they ask me which type of coffee I want, to which I normally say, "Regular." This time when they asked I was planning to say "Irish Cream." They didn't ask, and just assumed I was alright with the Cream. Bastards.
Now, in all fairness, I was going to order Irish Cream anyway, so no big deal. But the fact that they didn't ask me, and just assumed I was okay with that particular blend really pissed me off. What if I was allergic to Ireland? How bad would they feel when I broke out in hives and passed out at their condiment stand?

The other day I was studying on the first floor of the campus library with a friend of mine. This moderately cute girl came up to us and was like, "Can you help me find these books?" She said that there should be someone on the first floor to help her out, but there wasn't (there never is). I volunteered to help her, and she asked how the system worked. I explained that you just look at the cards placed on the sides of the aisles, which are in descending/ascending order, and go from there. She was like, "Oh," and I took her to where the first book should be.
"What's the book called?"
"Uh, I don't know."
"...well, it's not here, so maybe it's checked out. What did it say in the computer?"
"I didn't look it up, some guy upstairs gave me the call numbers."
So, she was an idiot, and I was getting annoyed. She asked again how to find the books, so I explained it AGAIN, and left her alone. Seriously, when you get into college, they explain all this to you, but how do you even get into college without knowing how to find a book in a library? The worst part was that she was a full-on Monet.
Hollywoodland: 7.5/10
The Philadelphia Story: 8/10
All About Eve: 10/10 (amending this previous score. What a perfect movie.)

Yesterday I was taking the shuttle to my 10:30 class. All the seats were full so I was one of a handful of people standing. We were pulling out of my apartment complex when the shuttle came to a jerking stop (I almost fell on a few people, but luckily I was holding the handrail). I look up front and see our shuttle driver arguing with this black girl (this whole thing may sound racist, but I assure you it's not - the girl just happened to be black) because she sat in the front on this platform thing next to the driver's seat (technically you're not supposed to sit there, but when the shuttle's full, people always do and no one cares).
So the bus is stopped and I'm standing there, at this point still trying to figure out what's going on. The driver finally says, "I'm not going until she apologizes." What?! You drive a fucking bus, you're not our parent. It is your job to drive the bus, not to lecture us on manners. Yes, the girl was being idiotic and rude, but you don't have the right to make 50 people late for their classes because you want an apology.
So the girl was being a stubborn prick, and the driver got off the bus and made a phone call. This was after about five minutes. 90% chance he called one of his driver friends or his boss to ask if he would do what he was doing, and 100% chance they told him, "No, now go drive the fucking bus."
So he got back on and we went to campus. During the ride they both made phone calls and were both telling the situations in their own words, which was pretty funny since they were right next to each other. People like that suck.
Spirited Away - 9/10
Little Miss Sunshine - 8.5/10
Network - 8/10
Edit 10/18/2008: Network should be a 10/10, and Spirited Away as well. I failed at recognizing classics.

My English Lit. class is such a joke - and not in a good way.
Today we had this quiz... Throughout the last week (which is what the quiz was on) she emphasized lots of stuff. I can tell you who (William the Conqueror) and when (Oct. 15, 1066 during the Battle of Hastings) the French took over the throne of England, and why (because Edward the Confessor [who also began the construction of Westminster Abbey] promised him the throne but, didn't deliver), and William also brought over the system of Feudalism, which pretty much meant everything besides the churches belonged to the king. I can name the first 5 kings in that bloodline (Will I, Will II, Henry I, Stephen, Henry II [who also had 4 brothers, Richard (the Lionheart), Geoffrey, Henry III, John]). I know John Wyclif was the first person to translate the Bible into Middle English, Caxton brought the printing press to England from Germany, and the most popular things in print were the Bible, Mort d'Arthur, and the Canterbury Tales. I know Thomas Beckett was murdered in 1170 in the Canterbury Cathedral and that's why the 32 (30 characters, Chaucer [who was born around 1340, no one knows for sure, and died in 1400], and the host [who served as a judge, referee, and guide]) travelers in the Canterbury Tales are on their journey (well, for various other personal reasons, but that's the general consensus).
Also I know lots of other various shit that was mentioned and emphasized throughout the lecture by the teacher and I was positive would be on this objective test. Nope, she asks us stuff like, 'name 3 authors other than Chaucer who represented Medieval literature.' I knew two, because we read one of them and I know Thomas Malorey did Mort d'Arthur, so that was two. But she never, ever, mentioned another one. And if she did (which she didn't), it was so brief and nowhere near as relevant as any of the pieces of information I listed above.
Fuck knowing historical context of pieces of literature, we need to know tiny details never mentioned in class, and somehow find them on our own.
